In ’59 at the tender age of 14 Francesco
Miatto started work as an apprentice
in the Pellegrini leather workshop
in Venice. Francesco began to perfect
his own skills here and gain a solid
grounding in his art: from 1962 to 1966
he worked for Roberta di Camerino,
the great icon of Venetian elegance.
His experience with the company
Ape later led him to use luxury
materials, such as crocodile,
ostrich and lizard.
It was thanks to the enthusiasm
of Marilena Potente, his wife and
companion in both his working and
private life, that he decided to take
the plunge.
