1988 marked the beginning of Francesco’s
Japanese adventure as he began exporting
his creations, which enjoyed increasing
popularity among Japanese customers.
1997 was a turning point in his career: he
opened a new shop in Via Carducci, a prime
location in Mestre, and took part in an Italian
Craft Fair at the Takashimaya department
stores in Tokyo and Yokohama in Japan.
Francesco and Marilena continued to take
part in many international fairs over a
number of years, giving them the chance
to travel around Japan.
In 1998 Francesco Miatto received the
Venice-Mestre Rotary Club
“One job-one
life” award.
